KTF Release Notes: September 22, 2026
The September 22 release is mostly about trust in the numbers. It includes about 70 fixes and improvements, and most of them make refunds, deposits, gift cards, tax reports and artist commissions add up correctly. It also adds browser push notifications, fixes Google Calendar sync, and makes payout dates respect bank holidays and weekends.
Features
Browser push notifications: Shops now get push alerts in the browser, not just the app. New bookings notify the shop login, not only the artist.
Piercer breakdown in Sales Receipt: See which piercer did which piercings, and how many of each.
Bookings vs. walk-ins chart: The dashboard chart comparing booked appointments to walk-ins has been updated.
Appointment-change webhook: Sends an event when an appointment changes, so outside systems stay in sync.
Payments, refunds, deposits and tax reports
Refunds and deposits now leave balances and reports correct, including partial refunds, split payments and gift cards.
Deposits
Partial and split refunds now return the right amount to the right place, and the client's deposit balance stays accurate.
A project deposit is no longer counted in full against every appointment in the project.
The deposit summary now shows restored deposits and treats partially used deposits as still open.
Forfeit Deposit no longer appears on refunded deposits, and it now shows in the mobile app's deposit menu.
A client with one pending deposit can now pay a second deposit through the public booking page.
Gift cards and store credit
Gift card payments are no longer recorded as taxable sales.
Balances can't be overdrawn, including when two payments hit at the same moment.
Tips paid from a gift card or store credit are now taken from the balance.
Refunds to the original method correctly restore gift card balances, including on invoices with no client attached.
Refund messages now say accurately where the money goes: the gift card or the client profile balance.
Shop Summary now includes loaded, unspent gift card balances as a liability.
Tax and summary reports
After a full refund, Shop Summary and Tax Collection Summary no longer keep showing the tax or taxable sales.
Refunds now reverse tax based on what was actually charged, and rounding can't reverse more tax than the invoice had.
Card terminal
A declined card no longer leaves checkout stuck on "Waiting for payment."
A pending terminal payment now has a Cancel option.
Terminal payments that arrive late now record the actual card charge, and missing transactions are recovered.
Behind the scenes: There are stronger safeguards against duplicate postings, fractional-cent amounts and inconsistent refund instructions. Shops don't need to do anything; it just means fewer ledger errors.
Commissions, tips and payouts
Artist pay now follows the money correctly when a transaction is refunded or reassigned to a different artist.
Reassigning an artist on a paid invoice now moves the commission and the tip to the new artist. The original artist is no longer paid too.
Refunding one artist's line no longer reduces another artist's commission.
Refunding only the service amount no longer claws back the artist's tip.
Clawbacks can't take back more than the artist earned.
Negative commissions from a clawback can now be marked as paid.
Splitting a very small tip across many artists no longer creates a negative tip.
My Payments (artist view) and Artist Payouts (shop view) now show matching numbers.
The Artist Payout report now shows quantity, so per-unit commissions no longer look wrong.
The Commissions tab loads again, and the "Available" option is back in category-based commission sync on artist profiles.
Expected payout dates now skip bank holidays, and a Sunday payout moves to the next banking day.
Calendar, booking, consent forms and messaging
Google Calendar sync works reliably again, and several booking and consent form issues are fixed.

Google Calendar sync on the mobile app is fixed, and shops can set up new incoming Google Calendar syncs again.
Appointments imported from Square no longer show up 5 hours off in Google Calendar.
Multi-day blackout dates now show every blocked day in the monthly calendar view.
"Book on calendar" from an appointment request works again in the app.
Booth renter accounts can now set their calendar color.
Consent forms
The minimum-age check now happens on page 1 of the consent form, instead of letting an underage client get to page 3.
Messaging and app
Incoming client messages now show up in Messenger right away.
Leaving kiosk mode in the app returns to the shop's account instead of a blank profile.
The artist dropdown on Artist Payouts and the My Payments screen now load correctly in the app.
