Sales Summary Report

The Sales Summary Report provides a clear, high-level snapshot of your shop’s income and expenses for a selected date range. This helps you understand your shop’s financial performance at a glance.

Here's what you'll find plus a description of the report below:

How to Use It

  • Date Range: Choose the time period you want to analyze (e.g., “This Month”).

  • Artists Filter: View results for all artists or filter by specific artist to see individual contribution.

What You’ll See

The report is broken down into three key sections:


1. Income

This shows all revenue generated by the shop, divided into categories:

  • Product Sales: Total revenue from products sold.

  • Service Sales: Includes deposits and completed services.

    • Deposits: Deposits collected through all payment methods.

    • Services: The remaining balance collected after services are completed.

  • Sales Tax: Collected sales tax.

  • Tips: Any tips collected from clients and logged in the system.


2. Expenses

Tracks money to be paid out by the shop, including:

  • Commissions: Artist payouts based on services, deposits, or products.

  • Refunds / Voids: Any payments refunded or voided (if applicable).

  • Sales Tax: Amount of tax the shop is responsible for remitting.

3. Net to Shop

This is your bottom line:
Net to Shop = Total Income – Total Expenses

It shows how much money the shop actually keeps after commissions, taxes, and tips are accounted for.

Use this report regularly to:

  • Track performance by artist or overall shop

  • Understand income vs. payout dynamics

  • Prepare for tax reporting

  • Identify trends in product vs. service sales


Payments by Type Report

The Payments by Type Report shows exactly how your clients are paying—whether it's cash, card, or alternative payment methods like Zelle or Venmo. It helps you understand payment trends, track processing volume, and spot which methods are most popular.

Here's what you'll find plus a description of the report below:

🔍 Filters

Use these filters at the top to customize your view:

  • Date Range
    Analyze payments across time with options like:

    • This Month

    • This Year

    • Last Year

    • Custom Range (set your own date range)

  • Artist
    Filter by specific artist or view totals for the entire shop.

📊 Report Breakdown

1. Payment Types Chart
A donut chart visually shows the percentage breakdown of payment methods used (e.g., how much was paid in cash vs. card). Hover over each slice for quick insights.

2. Payment Table
A detailed breakdown with:

  • Payment Method: Cash, manually entered card, Zelle, Venmo, etc.

  • Total Amount: Total value processed via that method

  • Transaction Count: Number of transactions using that method

  • Track how much is going through cash vs. cards

Appointments vs. Walk-ins Report

This report helps you understand how clients are booking—whether they schedule appointments in advance or walk in without notice. It breaks down total revenue and transaction counts by booking type, so you can track client behavior and plan staffing accordingly.

For this report, a 'Walk-in' is considered any checkout with no appointment.

  • Date Range: Choose a specific time period (e.g., This Year, Last Month, Custom Range)

  • Artist: View data for all artists or filter by an individual artist

📊 Report Breakdown

1. Revenue: Appointments vs. Walk-ins

  • A donut chart visualizes revenue share between scheduled appointments and walk-in customers [add image]

2. Transaction Count: Appointments vs. Walk-ins

  • Shows how many total checkouts came from each booking type

3. Transaction Details Table
Every transaction is listed below with:

  • Checkout ID

  • Client Name

  • Type (Appointment or Walk-in)

  • Date/Time

  • Total Amount

  • Artist Name

Sales Tax Report

The Sales Tax Report gives you a complete breakdown of taxable and non-taxable sales, how much sales tax you’ve collected, and which items/services were taxed. This report is especially useful for filing taxes and ensuring compliance with your state’s sales tax regulations.

2. Taxable Transactions Table

Shows every taxable sale during the specified period:

Report columns:

  • Date

  • Taxable Amount

  • Tax Collected

  • Applied Tax Rate

3. Non-Taxable Transactions Table

Shows all services/products not subject to tax for reference:

  • Common for services like tattoos or piercings

4. All Transactions (Aggregated Table)

A full summary of taxable and non-taxable amounts by transaction:

Report Columns:

  • Taxable Amount

  • Non-Taxable Amount

  • Tax Collected

  • Total Transaction Value

  • Grand Total at the bottom combines all data:

Coupons/Discounts Usage Report

This report shows how often discounts are being used in your shop, how much they’re costing you, and which artists or clients are using them. It's perfect for tracking the impact of promotions, managing staff discount usage, or reviewing recurring client perks.

  • Date Range: Select the timeframe you want to analyze (e.g., This Year, Last Month, Custom)

  • Coupon/Discount Code: Filter for a specific code (e.g., "Military Discount", "Shop 10%")

  • Artist: Filter to see discounts used per artist
